I hate to be in the minority, but I've seen a couple of tint jobs that included the stripes through the rear window, and they both looked fairly nice. Both were dark cars with silver stripes, so the dark tint was matched with a reflective tint (not silver or chrome, but kind of a black chrome look) on the stripes. I even thought about replicating the look. The local tint guy wanted $70 extra to do the stripes. Haven't tinted anything yet, but my car is blue, so it may not look as good...

 

I don't know about a ticket, but you might get pulled over and frisked.
