Would anyone like to see the Halibrand Cobra III

If the Black Chrome option were made available would any of you think about purchasing this finish on the Cobra III wheels?

Just a better shot of the Black Chrome on a S-197 Mustang

O.K. I know a few of you are looking at this not many voting on color of wheel preference. Here is the deal I have a P.O. for 2500 wheels for the first quarter of 2006 it is for primarily 18-inch and 20-inch wheels. I know the MagCoat sells well to the masses as it has that new old look about it. But I’m struggling with a second color choice for you the end users. Gloss Black has just seemed to be an up and comer and so has Black Chrome. I was trying to get some sort of feel for what you guys might like to see in a finish on the Cobra III wheel. I know there are a vast amount of wheel choices out there and the Halibrand is but one choice. This is just a chance for your voices to be heard and possibly help in the decision making process for a new finish option on the Cobra III wheels. If this works we might even post some new designs and see what ones you guys like and in what finishes you would buy them in. Come on guys and gals this is a chance for you to voice what it is that you would like in a wheel finish and we’ll see where it goes from their.

BTW, are you offering a deep-dish option for these Cobra IIIs?

The 20-inch wheels will have a staggered option or deep lip for the rear. These S197 just do not have a lot of room for deep-lipped wheels. As you know we have to be take into account all the modifications that a potential customer might have preformed on his or her car. Some customers are not aware that if you lower your car it offsets the rear to one side and this necessitates an adjustable panhard bar to correct the situation. We have to compensate for these customers unaware of this. If we don’t we end up being one of those manufactures that are listed in the forums as idiots who don’t know how to build a quality product. As for the color we have looked into a silver coating for the spokes we just didn’t think there would be much interest in that color as the highlights don’t show up as well. Thanks for the input.

So let me get this straight, your company is not going to make an optimum fit rim because of the idiots out there that don't know what they are doing when they modify their cars? That seems silly but OK. What is the stagger going to be on the 20" combo, are you going to offer a 19" combo as well?

The 20-inch rims will be 20X9 and 20X10 in fitment. What I was getting at, was just the fact that when the 10-inch wheel is sold it will have a warning on the box stating that if your car is lowered these may or may not fit your wheel opening. For best possible fit installation of an aftermarket panhard bar to center your rear axle is needed. Were all about maximum fit and use of rubber on these cars. We have been working with tire & brake companies to assure the buying public that we can get the most amount of options for everyone involved. Oh by the way should have a 18X10 Cobra III for the S197 in late April 06.
