Im finally getting the stripes put on my car but im really worried.
First off im missing the car already
second the guy was telling me that its a hard job when i asked for 11 inch stripes with a 1.5 inch gap he said hes gonna try but its easier to do with smaller size stripes and he would have to see what size 10inch to 11inch when hes installing them

a song to my stang
I can't live
If living is without you
I can't live
I can't give anymore
I can't live
If living is without you

Haven't done stipes.. but I know how you feel, I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown when I took mine in for it's 5k service.

Haven't been that worried sence my daughter was born.

Ken, are you getting stripes or vinyl? I wouldn't think that either would be a problem for an experienced shop. If they don't do a good job the first time, demand that they redo it....that's what they're getting paid for.

Don't take a chance with your beautiful car! If the installer admits to being uncomfortable with the job or tries to talk you out of what YOU want, RUN AWAY as quickly as you can and find someone else. Yes, even if it costs more money. Good luck!

I'd rather have an installer be honest and say it is a hard job rather than lie, after all, striping the stang is not an easy task. I heard someone locally was installing stripes on the stang and was bragging about how easy it was to install them wet, which, personally I found impossible, even with 10 years experience. So I brought a nice new 05 redfire to him last week and said, "I'd like this to have stripes on it, however, I would like to watch you put the hood stripe on just so I know you know what you are doing.". Sure, he was arrogant and said "Fine" but I could tell he was nervous. Well after watching him struggle for over an hour just trying to get 1 stripe laid out on the hood I finally said "You have no clue what you are doing, do you?" He finally admitted he was a putz by saying "Ya caught me. I have a guy from out of town install them but I have never watched how it is done." Needless to say I just wanted to prove a point that it if someone brags about how easy the install is, they most likely were not the ones that installed the stripes.

Did you see any of his other work? Be sure your happy with the quality and end result its your baby. I know how nervous I was leaving mine for three days with 400 miles on it to have the paint work done but it all worked out great and they did an awesome job. They were pumped to be working on a brand new 05. Good luck I'm sure it will work out.

Those are the dimensions on my stripes and the installer ended up having the car for 4 days. The hardest part is over the spoiler and on the bumpers. It's almost impossible not to wrinkle the tape.
I'm happy with mine for now but will have them removed and painted in a year or so.
Either way, the wide stripes are worth the extra trouble.

I do not understand this posting. If you are the vinyl guru with ten years experience why did you not install them yourself? What is wrong with installing wide stripes wet? Please clarify your post.
