where to get adhesion promoter for scoop?
ok so I got my Pre-painted Roush hood scoop. Where do I get the adhesion promoter fot dbl stick tape? Or do I even need it since the Roush also uses screws?
Side note:
I got it direct from Roush and the paint and prep work is excellant.
Thanks Mike

Well, honestly it's an option. Just make sure to thoroughly clean the area the tape is going to stick to, and when you mount it make sure you apply pressure all along the unit to get the tape to stick properly.
Is the tape already on the Roush scoop? The tape isn't there to just hold the unit down, it is there to prevent a good amount of moisture from getting underneath the scoop and staying there. Also I'd imagine you would get a nasty vibration if no tape was there to keep the units footing.

I believe adhesion promoter is something much different from the alcohol. If you get any on your hands it has a very sticky feeling. I get extra tape and promoter from a bodyshop supply store when I have to refit a part. I clean the surface with alcohol, apply the promoter, line up the part and then pull the red backing off.In most cases the instructions always tell you to warm the part in the sun for15 or so minutes before installing it.
3M 94 Ahesion promoter is basically liquid glue residue in simple terms. Once applied, it will leave a sticky film akin to when you take tape off of something. All this does is give the tape a better chance of sticking to a smooth surface. Proper cleaning, however, is the main attribute to whether or not the tape will stick or not, the adhesion promoter is just a helper.
