Wheel upgrade help? 07 Mustang...limited budget

This is not a sale page. I am not trying to sell my rims...ONLY need suggestions...

I am looking to when the weather gets better, buy rims and tires for my summer set. I have stock 17" Bullitts with Pirelli PZeros (Pony package) currently. I have had them since the car was new in March 07. I am wanting to get new custom non-OEM looking rims. I hope to sell the set of Bullitts to help offset the cost. Possibly going up in size if tires and wheels can be found for a decent price. I am hoping to find something good for $600 or less. Anyone have any suggestions? Please...

Does your $600.00 budget include tires? Does it also include the money you would get from the sale of your current wheels?

The way I see it there are two possible situations...the $600 could go as hi as $700 I think...

1. I buy wheels only and just keep the same 17 inch tires...$600 would not include the the sale of my rims.
2. I buy a set of rims with tires (package deal)...and sell the rims and tires I have to offset the cost.

I would love to go up to 18s but I just dont think its going to be possible with my budget...

This is only my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. If what you really want is 18's, I would wait and continue saving. Only because I find that settling is never really beneficial for anybody.

$600.00 even for a set of 17's including tires is already vary tight, and I think to do it, you'd have to find used. So in this situation I would take that $600.00 and put in the bank where you won't spend it on something else. Then add to it as you can and get what you truly want. It may take a little longer, but you'll save money because you get what you want the first time.

From the pictures you've posted on your cardomain it's easy to see you take pride in your vehicle. It's clean and I see you've gone for the turlingua(sp?) look. You could have easily spent less money on your ride and picked up a civic, or a focus, or carolla...you get the picture, but you didn't. You go what you wanted. I would do the same here.

Thanks, yeah you are right, I should just save. That's what I'll do.

I sold a set of takeoff (2,000 miles) 18" Polished Bullitts with the tires for like $600 last year. I think you could find a deal like that. Someone who took them off the car early. Black Bullitts, GT500 take-offs.

That's one way to go.

American Muscle has some good pricing on wheels for about $600.00 and then you could get tires at a later time

Hi Luke

I take it it's the style of wheel you want to change, rather than the stance of the car. If it is the latter, lowering springs and a set of spacers can do wonders.

OK, these are 18s, but the car is now lowered and has spacers to push those wheels out for a nice stance:

If it really is a change in style you're after, I'd agree to keep saving until you can afford what you really want.

Good luck with whatever you choose though

depending on what you want, many people sell their gt/cs rims that are chrome and 18' you might be able to pic up a set for 600. but honestly i completely agree with jlmounce

I have decided I'm going to go with some unique so it's less of a Terlingua copy. But, I have found out my budget is bigger for rims...stay tuned for updates as I will be getting them in March or April at the latest!

That's a good stance.
