No kidding! I am not sure that I don't like the spinners with the "Ford" on them better. The ones I have, I ordered back in October and I just received them. Did you purchase yours from Ford parts dept.?
v6 replacements ordered 1 at a time # 4r3z1130fa $26.68 ea sugg.retail The one advantage is if you lose or damage one they can be replaced without buying a whole kit as with the pony style!

For now, I'll stick with what I have, but if one get lost or stolen, I'll start over with the ones you have on. Thanks, it makes more sense.

If you want paul one of the other members in another thread said that they used a large inside snap ring to keep there spinners from being stolen ( very good idea as well!) B)

Good idea and prolly less trouble for most people if you knew where to find them, correct size & readily available.

As I think about it, I don't know where you would install a snap ring?

This is the best I can do Paul for a pic so here ya go ....

If you look on the right hand side you can see the opening from where the inside "support" ring ends and is located (one black arrow inside) .It squeeze's in and out when the spinner is put on or removed from the wheel and keeps the "fingers" even at the same time .

Install a large "inside diameter" snap ring ( red and black arrows left hand side of pic) after spinners are installed on wheel giving you the same effect as the closet dowel ...keeping the fingers perminatly spread and seeing that the snap ring is larger than the hole in the rim where the spinner goe's through ...will not allow the spinner to be removed B)

My question is regarding the snap ring. I assume it compresses so you can insert it and then it expands to keep it in place. If someone was to "pull" on the spinner, what keeps the snap ring from compressing and allowing it to be removed?

Well John with a good snap ring you need to install it with snap ring plyers, yes it does compress but with great force .What would probably happen is that the spinner would break before being removed seeing that its plastic anyway.

Yeah, the downside is that if they want to steel them they can't, but if they decide to do damage or get forceful in steeling them there is little you could do about it. If you are alive and trying, you are vulnerable to the scumbags who are not!

Paul, the caps look great! B) Did you ever get the locking gas cap?
I just left South Bay Ford parts department and they told me the locking gas cap is not yet available from Ford.

Paul, the short # is a FC-993 or the long # is a 4L3Z-9K163-AA for $29.58, I have 13 in stock. Your parts guys are trying to look this gas cap under 9030 base part #, when it's a 9K163. If they can't figure this out, or they can,t get this cap yet. e/m me, I will get you taken of.

Thanks Wade for the part numbers and the offer. I'll go back at this tomorrow and see what happens. If I still have problems I will pm you.
