I tried searching, to no avail. So, if I am looking to get rid of my wheels that come with the 06 GT, but want to use the tires that come with it....what size rims need I buy? 17 x 8?

Also, if the car comes with 17s, and I swap to 18s, do I understand correctly that that swap could result in the speedometer being slightly off?

To reuse the same tire would require the exact same size wheel; unless running on the sidewall doesn't botter you..
I think you can get away with a 1/2 width size difference... :scratch:
As far as the speedometer is concerned; try to equal the same height of your OE tires...
