I have ordered a set and do not have them yet. I did read a post that said they were somewhat transparent even though they are black. I also read that the person painted them black on the back side and they looked perfect.

Sorry I do not have any actual experience info but maybe someone else will chime in.

They come with double sided tape already applied to them. All you have to do is peel off the backing and stick them on. I ordered mine two weeks ago from mossmustang.com and they arrived in 5 days. Here are a couple more pics for your viewing pleasure.

If you're having the blackout panel painted, just paint the tail lights too. Would give a much cleaner look, IMO.

As for the AVS trim, yes, it's smoked transparent, just like their vent shades. Same material.

I've seen the tail lights painted in the grooves and I thought it looked pretty cheap.

I have the moss ones coming in, for the money I think they'll look pretty good. Badf250 is your blackout in the middle painted or magnetic?

The problem with the AVS ones is they cover part of the lense. Gives the tail lights a 94-98 look.

I have this kind. I was going to paint them but after I got them I ended up keeping them chrome. They really look like they came stock on the car. If you are interested in them, you can get them for $55 by pm'ing Jeffrey at BadMustangs Club.

They are also sold at Mustang Tuning.

I may be missing a supplier (s) but based on your wanting a black bezel, then Moss seems to be the one given your time frame and pretty positive comments on it from members. SilverHorse Racing is developing one but really no time frame for it.

That option is the best way to go, IMO.
