I think it's a good choice. I've been debating which plate to order for about a month now and I just applied yesterday for GTYUPV8. The others I was considering were:
SONOF68 NDSADLE 6YSTEED CMYHOSS DROOLON SEXYP51
RWND268 P51CRZY RTROP51 ITS1968 STNGNUT LGNDLVS
PNY5150 BADENUF CMY3RD1 AGR8PNY P51LOVR MSAGRO
You'll need to read the last one backwards.

I like it Scott, but are you going to (can you) add a space in there to help differentiate the year a little? Just curious.
Like "BACK2 68"
I think New York lets you use 8 characters. Virginia lets you use 7 characters, but will allow a space.

I almost got it but too many people thought it looked too much like "stingnut".
