Well, you guys wore me down and MADE me buy a CDC Classic chin spoiler (that's my story, and i'm stickin' to it...)

So now I figure you're all obligated to give me an opinion on the best color to paint it for my 'vert. Paint it to match or go with black (ala the classic Mach 1)?

Here's a pic of the car as it currently stands:

I would go with the flat black espacially since you have a black top. That's what I went with and I love the look.

Thanks Wes, just checked out you car on Sound Domain...major sweetness there...I think that's probably the first car I've seen where I thought the optional red interior REALLY looked good.

I personally had mine painted, then installed it myself at the shop that did it.

I thought leaving it black was the "Lazy" way out. If I had a V6, then probably would leave it black to match the other pieces.

But don't it look nice painted? > > >

I agree either way looks good, however if you go with black I think it looks better to have the rear spoiler black.

I'd go with the black chin spoiler. It will look good with your black top plus it will go well with your blackout rear decal (which is also Mach1-esque!). Then all you will need is a black rear spoiler and a black hood decal and you will have a cool mach1 styled mustang! I'm bias though as this is what I plan on doing to mine!

You know, I didn't really start out with that as a plan, but I do seem to be headed in that direction, don't I?

Might as well accept it and do it right so it all fits together.

I wonder about the rear spoiler though. Whether to go with a black stock 05/06 style or maybe use a vintage repro (I've seen some of those on the Boss Shinoda cars, and they looked pretty darn good.

How much does it cost to get the chin spoiler painted (to match body color), on average?

For those that went this route, did you order the spoiler in the 'raw' finish?

Body colour, but if it had to be black, matte.

I have to ask, what's going on with the "+1" posts all over the board? I know what it means, but it seems this week it's showing up in every other post, well, ok, maybe not that much, but a lot.

Not being critical there btw, just curious about the sudden popularity.

Frankly, it's a lazy way of saying "I concur" or "I agree". I've noticed it for about a month now.

Yeah, caught that. It's just been this past week or so that I've noticed it everywhere. Obviously the 'where's the beef" of 2006

so cdc does not actually sell a chin spoiler that is black plastic. they are either tan unpainted or painted from CDC. there site kinda makes this not that clear. for those who got the flat painted one from CDC, how does the paint hold up to driving fast? does it get chipped up easily?

Do the matt black if you have the blackout rear panel and also do the rear spoiler.
