Just test fitted the Boyd Coddington Smoothie IIs on my 06 GT and they hit the caliper. I guess I'm going to need spacers now, so anybody that has used 'em any advice would be great!

The wheel looks like it needs between 1/8th-1/4 inch spacer. Where should I go or order from? Any advice on trying to figure out the exact smallest spacer I can get away with?

EDIT: BTW, this car is a to get a jack under when it's lowered! I think I'm going to need a new, lower floor jack just for my car .

Mine came with 1/4" spacers for the front. With the negative camber, especially since you've lowered it, they do not stick out any further than the rears. I'm not sure where to get them from, but here is a site I saved when I thought I was going to have to order them. http://www.stockcarproducts.com/wheels2.htm

As for the jack, I just use the small jack that came with the car to raise it up enough to get the floor jack under it.

Thanks. I'm thinking about finding a tire store with spacers in stock so they can try up to the smallest spacer I can get away with. So far haven't found one. I'd hate to order a 1/4 inch spacer and find out I could get away with an 1/8th, or get an 1/8th and find it's too small.

One of mine hit with the Boyd's while backing and turning. Just took a grinder and basically took the casting marks off the corner of the caliper top and bottom. They are very close all the way around. They are painted red so if they ever touch it would really be noticeable. Mine is an 05, I did read on here that the calipers may be larger on the 06.

I use my floor jack as long as it all the way down and sliding straight under I can just get it under far enough to raise the car.

I got 'em through Discount Tire Direct. I also just borrowed a grinder to take a little off the calipers and ordered 7/32 inch spacers from summitracing. Hopefully I'll have my tires sometime next week and will make this a project for next weekend.

I can see alot of people having problems with fitting rims on their 06s that barely fit on the 05s.
