Thumbs up

I have a question for those of you that have the vinyl stripes. I am ordering torch red and was wanting white stripes. I was wondering how close this resembles painted stripes. Are the stripes more flat or glossy? Do they appear almost smooth with the paint or does it appear or feel "raised" like a layer of tape stuck on the car? I guess I'm picturing this thick layer of tape like a piece of electrical tape stuck to paint.

Most people that see mine asume my stripe's are painted on. Thier usually quite surpprized there vinyl. Just go to a good shop and make sure they use high quality vinyl, and they'll turn out great! You can get gloss or flat finish vinyl, and there's not much of a "raised" feeling to them at all.

I agree with Justin. I think its got alot to do with a good grade of vinyl. I agonized long and hard with the decision to put vinyl on my brand new car. I was thinking the same way you are...a sticker on my new paint. After all is said and done I am very happy with the quality of the vinyl and the look it gives the car. I have had a couple of issues with the installation. Do ask around and talk to several installers. You don't want someone practicing on "your" car.
After a good coat of wax mine shine like the rest of the car.

Definately make sure that you request 2 mil vinyl. Also with a torch red I'd would not use Pearl white as it has a metallic flec in it. Personally I would go with gloss white. Flat white may look blotchy when you wax over top of it.
