Forget vinyl blackouts. I think they look cheap. I ordered the 3dcarbon blackout PANEL. Had it painted glossy black and clearcoated

I wish someone had told me the "easy" way. What I learned from putting mine on...
Mix some dish soap in a squirt bottle with water. Wet the surface of the car, and the back of the vinyl. It will not stick at first. I tried doing it dry and it was so sticky, once it touched the paint, there was no moving it! Bubbles were stuck. I peeled it off, got it wet, and that made it soooo much easier. You can slide it around, get it positioned just right, then start squeegie-ing.
Start at the center, around the fake gas cap. Lay it down, trying to push out as much air as possible. Squeegie as you go. Oh, and use a soft squeegie, and keep the outside surface wet as well, to avoid scratching it. As it drys, it will stick really well. Keep squeegie-ing and pressing. It will eventually all dry out and stick, even along the edges. I was worried about the edges where it just barely wrapped around the edge of the trunk, but it did stick. Keep pressing it.
Hope that helps.

No, I didnt use any heat. I just kept pressing on it as it dryed, and it eventually stuck nice. The next day I realized I had parked with my rear facing East, and it got nicely heated up in the sun (Florida here), and that did help with the itty bitty air bubbles.
You can see my rear here:

I dont understand what you mean about the sunken gas cap look.??

Did you need to use a heat gun to get the corners to wrap around the lip? IMHO the vinyl or painted panel looks better than any prefab panel I've seen so far. The prefabs may be simple to install but I don't care for the sunken gas cap look.

No cheapness about it. I have had several people think mine was painted.

As for the corners, I just kept rubbing them down. It took a little while, but it all stuck just fine.
No heat gun used. Just the saop/water mixture and some rubbing.

Chris, I've seen your car pictures in the past and it was the main reason I decided to go with the blackout panel on my car. Your car looks great. Nice job...

I got it on ebay. Not sure if the guy still sells them, but it was posted on here about his auctions. I think a lot of people got one from him. It was around $25-30.
I put mine on back in April I think.

That look like a different guy. I can't remember the one I bought it from. If you search my post about blackout panels, I am sure I mentioned it somewhere before.
The guy had a yellow pony on his auctions. He said he might use my car since I sent nice pictures when I did mine originally.
