V6ers who put on GT parts...
#1
I'm close to ordering GT take off parts for my V6 from casco (front and rear facia's) and was wonderign who has put them on already and how hard is it? I know there are a few more parts needed that I can order, but is it something you can do at home, or is it beter bringing it to a shop? I have the tools needed and a friend who can help. Any info is appreciated.

Piece of cake! Front fascia took about 1 1/4 hour. You will need front forward fender liners, valence that bolts in between fascia and radiator core support, spacer insert for bumper crash bar and fasteners.
Rear bumper fascia is just as easy-I did not replace mine but have had mine off and on once.

Chill guys, my point was that I was thinking by the time you bought the car, then bought all the extra parts, cost of paint, labor, etc - then by that time you would be close to the cost of the real GT.
If I was really trying to be a smart ****, I wouldn't have tried to help by posting the site link that I thought could help. Granted after going back and reading my post, it didn't sound right, thoughts verses typing didn't sink up....

Well, I finally had my GT front bumper (& CDC GT chin spoiler) painted and installed yesterday. I had intended to install it myself but when the body shop offered to do it for $85 I decided that I'd rather spend the extra money to save myself the hour or two of dirt and cursing and let them do it. They called me twice during the installation -- once to make sure I knew that the V6 grille doesn't fit quite right in the GT bumper (there's a teeny bit of space all around the grille... any comments/suggestions Tiberius?) and the second time to get my permission to drill into the bumper cover in order to mount the front license plate (@#&^% NY state).

It cost me $150 to have the bumper cover painted and I think $20 for the chin spoiler (flat black). Of course, most of you folks probably won't have to have yours repainted... I just had a problem with my vendor's wholesale distributor (long story).
BTW I do have the illustrated installation instructions for the entire front (and rear) bumper assembly in a PDF if anyone needs a copy.
