V6 to GT Front Fascia Swap on Whinnie

Tomorrow night, I am going to finally get my V6 Pony grille and fascia.

First a little back story...

Last week, I was out and about, I decided to go to the mall. I was heading down an aisle in the parking lot. There was a Dodge Durango coming the other way. I wanted to pull in quickly to let him by. The spot was too right to begin with. I was so focused on not hitting the driver's side, I neglected the passenger side. Next to me was this huge lifted offroad truck. The tires were atleast 35 in. tall with huge hard rubber. My passenger side of the fascia made contact with the tire. I was, and still am angry at myself. But that is in the past...so let's move on.

A few days later, I called my friend Dan who has been a huge help in the progress with my Mustang. He told me about this place that he has dealt with that had a prepainted, Tungsten Grey GT front clip. I called. After a day or two of hassle trying to get money in order, I drove 45 mins. to get there to the shop. I paid for it and put it in the car.

Here we are a week or so later, the bumper is still in the car because I have had a hard time getting a friend to help me put it on with me. I got ahold of him today and we're doing it tomorrow night!

Anyone have any tips and tricks for us? Thanks! Sorry for the long read. This has been a high anxiety situation for me....Thanks for letting me vent...

Will post pics tomorrow. I'm so excited...

oh man, is it possible to do the swap with out the GT inner fender plastics? I only have the GT front clip, grille, and lower black plastic valance! I also noticed that the foam pieces are a lil different. are these things going to prohibit me from doing this tomorrow??

You can still do it. I cut the foam piece down on mine and I'm still running the V6 inner-fender parts. I keep planning on ordering them and the GT rock guard but honestly forgot about it.

went on in an hour, no hassle. My friend sprained his arm and was in a sling...so even with all that it was easy and fast. Looks great in my opinion!

Before...

The wreckage...

the install...

sam and the sling...

Better pics coming soon...

Looks good. I just gave away my lower GT grille after I installed my aggressive chin spoiler. You might post a wanted ad on here and see if anyone has one sitting around.

I also noticed you had the PP grille. If you still want to use it talk with Sound wave or Five Oh Brian, both are running the pony package grille with GT bumpers.
