V6 Fog light conversion

I'm converting my V6 to a GT bumper with grill and fogs.

I want to know if there is any way that I can retain the headlight on chime, the battery saver feature and (less importantly) have the fogs turn off automatically when the high beams come on.

For mine, I did the street scene wiring harness (which was the easiest way IMO) and got the GT light switch and hooked it up that way... It looks stock (the chime goes off if you leave the lights on), but the fogs don't turn off when I hit the brights (I have to do it manually), but there is a way to do it, I am just not sure where the wire goes... There's an extra wire that plugs in from the fuse box to somewhere on the harness. I need to email the guy that helped me to begin with to see if he can help me finish that...

I did find a thread from KC that said the street scenes kit linked the foglights to the headlights. They can only be on when the headlights are on, so you get the chime.

Is there anyway to link it to the parking lights so that you can run just fogs, or does it have to be fogs and lowbeams? Your avatar makes it look like you figured out how to do just fogs and parking.

Street Scene will have a center mount V6 conversion kit available in about 2-3 weeks. This conversion kit is much like the GT center mount kit - injection molded plastic grille shell that looks OE with the GT style lights mounted towards the center of the grille shell- much like the Shelby style of the late 60's. It will also have a complete wire harness kit. The GT lights will need to be bought from Ford for the time being. In about 60 days, Street Scene will also have the lights available. More to come..

The way mine is hooked up, it all works stock except the fogs going out when you hit the high beams... I have the GT light switch, so when I turn on the parking lights, I just pull out the switch and it turns on the fog lamps and if I turn the switch all the way to the right, the main lights come on with the fogs. If I press the switch back in, it turns the fogs off and leaves the headlights on... All like stock.

All I did was use the Street Scene wire harness and instead of using the flip switch it came with, I took that off and instead used that wire to tie in with one of the wires on the light switch... It works great except for the fact the fogs don't go out with the high beams...

Thanks for the explanation.

I think i'm going to temporarily use the rocker switch but i'm considering upgrading to the GT stock switch in the future. Your GT switch was the entire plastic shroud so if I drill the hole for the rocker it won't ruin things when I go to the GT piece right?

That's Right.

The GT Switch completely replaces the current V6 switch in the dash (it just pops out). The switch is like $35 or so online.

I definitely suggest going the GT switch route, since it looks so much better (IMO)... If you need any help figuring out the wiring, just ask or PM me!
