Trunk Struts Adjustment

Is there a way to adjust the tension on the trunk struts? Since I added the blackout panel, it needs a little more opening power.

Not that I am aware of. Doesn't your arm provide enough opening power?

When the latch releases, you would never know the trunk was open except for th click sound. Before I put the blackout panel on, the trunk lid would pop open several inches, now it barely opens. Maybe I need acuator type struts so it will open totally on its own?

Mine might pop-up about 1/4" but that is it. That is how mine had been since the day I bought it, with the factory spoiler and now the ducktail. I didn't know needing to have the trunk lift up on it's own a certain amount was that important.

Mine just unlatches. You wouldn't even know it was undone unless you tried to open it.

All the struts do is hold the trunk open and keep it from slamming shut. The little springs on the underside of the trunk lid are what pops the trunk up when unlatched. You might try turning them out a bit more to add more tension when the trunk is closed. Mine worked fine after I installed my ducktail (since removed) AND SHR honeycomb panel. Just a thought.
