Trunk Medallion?

Thanks. Not my idea, got it from a member on another forum. Just felt my GT didn't need two gas caps. Eventually going to replace it with a custom painted chrome and redfire pony from Southern Mustang Parts.

If i pulled off my faux gas cap on my 07 get that has seen the sun since i purchased it back in 06 what are the chances that the paint under it will match the paint around it. Im worried about sun fade but im not sure if im worrying for nothing

Just thought I'd throw this in. Changed the original grill pony I used to a smaller grill pony from a 1973 Mustang. About 1/3 smaller, looks a bit better preportioned. Got it from CJ Pony Parts. One pic shows both and the size difference.

I'll throw mine up here, now that I have a few photos of it.
Blacked out the center section, and overlaid a 1968 GT badge on it. It matches the same badges that I have on the front fenders. The badges are concave (to match the center caps it came off of), so I had to flatten them out as best I could. The most tedious part was applying thin strips of double-sided trim tape before putting them on the car.

Ed, I'm looking to do the same thing. To flatten out the GT badge is easy. Wrap the badge in a microfiber towel and place between 2 pieces of wood and place in a shop press. That'll flatten it out. If it's not completely flat replace the wood with a metal plate but keep the towel over it so it won't scratch.

Here's what I've got so far.
Ok I received my GT center cap emblems from CJ Pony Parts, removed posts and flattened them with my shop press. I've mounted it to the Black Ring / Chrome Door medallion from SHR. Tell me what you think. I'll post a pic in a day or two when I get it on the car.
