Trunk badge (fake gas cap) delete?

I did a search and didn't find what I wanted to know. I want to have the fake gas cap deleted and the holes filled. Got a reasonable quote from my body shop but the question is : how to keep the lock? It doesn't appear the bezel will work w/ it.

The other threads no longer have pics, hopefully some one could post some of cars that have had this done.

You going for a body colored rear, or are you trying to black it out? I thought you were going body colored at first, but then you threw me off when you started talking about a bezel not working.

I want have the emblem eliminated, holes filled in and keep the lock. Without pulling the badge, it looks like there won't be a bezel for the lock and it may not look right. No blackout on the panel as my car is black.

I don't have a picture handy, but there was one guy that eliminated the key lock altogether. It looked good, and he still had the remote to pop his trunk with.
