Tire size and brand for Shelby GT 500?
I probably asked this question before, but forgot the answer. If somebody doesn't mind answering it again I'd appreciate it.
Thinking of swapping out the 17's on my '05 GT for 18X9.5 FRPP wheels and would not like to have to re-set the speedometer. I seem to remember there was a tire size that would keep the outer diameter the same as stock. Also, did the GT 500 run BFG tires?
Gads, one more question. Will any mod be necessary for this? I thought I remember seeing in the FRPP catalog that there was a gizmo for the front end to keep the tires from rubbing.
Thanks

Thanks Mark. That's a handy tire size computer. If I use 255/45 ZR18's I'll be within 3 mm of the same tire diameter and the speedo error will only be 0.5%. I can live with that.
I'll take a look at one of the Shelby GT 500 sites to see if I can figure out what brand of tires they used.

I run the Eagle F1 supercar tires in the months of June, July, August and September on my GT500 chrome replicas. An absolute fantastic ride and great handling. Due to the narrow sidewall, ride is a bit firmer, but not harsh.
