Tips for paintng brake calipers

Ive got the red G2 brake caliper paint kit and plan on painting them this weekend. Any tips/hints/tricks I should know before hand? Also since I only have two jack stands, I was thinking I could measure out the paint/mixer and only mix half at a time, which would give me two seperate times to use the paint since it dries up after a few hours. Anyone tried or done it this way before? Thanks!

Its best to do all 4 at once, and here is why. When you mix the hardener with the paint, you don't have that long to do the application. I put 3 coats on my calipers (I'm lucky enough to have access to a indoor car lift at my dad's), and by the time I was starting on the 3rd coat, the paint was getting REALLY tacky in the can! Plus, the instructions state to not drive the car for 24 hours, while leaving the wheels off the car, for the calipers to dry. This I'm sure others haven't done, but I wasn't taking any chances with it, since your painting something that does get hot, and I wanted the paint to be fully dry.

If you know ANYONE who has a lift you can use, I would recommend you do it this way, so you can do all 4 calipers at the same time, instead of lowering the car and removing the other 2 wheels. Also, you may want to think about taping off some parts of the brake pad. I did this just in case I went a little too overzelous with the brush and I didn't want any paint on the pads. Any questions, feel free to give me a shout.

You may want to get yourself an additional brush or two. The bristles on the brush that comes with the G2 kit are stiff and cut square so it is a little difficult to get into corners neatly.
