did you remove the liner under the hood? is there any chance of water getting inside if i drive in heavy rain? i have the c&l intake installed in the car. do i need to make some kind of a seal thing on the underside of the hood?

 

I took a by-cycle tube and cut a section out of it to make a gasket...Just place the scuff plate on the rubber and cut around it. Then take a razor blade and cut an "X" in the middle of it. This way your pin can push through it and seal itself...I used 3-M spray glue to attach the gasket to the bottom side of the scuff plate. Viola...A sealed hood pin.
