how did you remove the "clips" from the heat shield under the hood?

I just removed my hood pad the other day and used a small chisel to sort of lift up the edge and then grabbed it with a pair of wire cutters to ease the pin out the rest of the way.

Rob, they have a special tool, looks like an angled chisel with a 'V' cut-out on the flat bladed section.

Those clips are the X-Mas tree, push-in type fasteners. And don't worry if you break or loose any, your local Kragen's and Autozone carries them (I dropped 2 in my engine bay, never to be found again!).
