For those who have painted their calipers
I think the dupli-color is a brush on application. Brushing is cleaner than spraying.
The container that came with the G2 kit (I believe it was a pint) is all I needed. I got three coats out of it and still had some left over.

I used the Dupli-color kit and purchased better paint brushes to do the painting. I put three good coats of paint on each caliper and still have 90% of the can of paint left.

What size can was it?
Jason
I bought the Duplicolor kit from Walmart and a set of artists paint brushes from the craft department. The whole shebang cost me $20.00. We did three coats on each caliper, and have at least 3/4 of the can left, just like Martimus said.

Also, I've seen the $15 Dupli-Color Caliper Paint kits in stores. Do you brush this paint on? Has anyone taken the calipers off and spray painted them? Pics of the results?

I'm working on painting the Axle black and the calipers and rotors Purple. Wife did not want Red. I'm spraying all parts includeing the wheel well that ford sprayed body paint on. Also grinding down that rough factory grinding on the calipers. I have them apart, but did not remove the parking brake and oil line. A lot of cleaning, covering and tapeing time plus a lot of patience. When I get them all completed in a few days I will post a few pixs.
One 12oz can of engine paint should do the job. Only $4.19
I would like to see closeup pixs of brush on jobs. Are you getting complete coverage without brush lines. Anyone?
I finished painting the rear axle black up to the brake dust covers. So I painted the rear Calipers first. Once you drive the pads will cut the paint on rotors in a excellent circle.

Here's a couple of somewhat close pictures of a brush-on caliper paint job:

The front Caliper was harder to do without disconecting the oil line. These Calipers are 99.5% painted Purple I hope the wife is happy. Is has been raining and more is in the forecast. So it will be a while for outdoor pixs. With the Machined wheels, you donot see much of Calipers when stopped anyway. New wheels will take care of that one day.
It took 1 1/2 12 cans of Engine spray paint and 2 cans of brake cleaner. One 1 1/2" 80 grit sanding drum to remove the very ruff grinding of parts suppler on brakets. 48 hours of my time including the rear axle. Wonder if the wife will give me 48 minutes in return!
On a side note SN197 is stamped in the fronts brackets.

What was the drying time for the paint?

With the Dupli-color kit it SAYS that you can re-mount the wheels about 2 hours after painting... and drive 24 hours later. For me the time was less since I live in Arizona and its ah, shall we say, rather WARM here.

I got the duplicolor kit and it came with a pretty small can of black paint... maybe a pint, if that. I may have used a quarter of the can, and I did 2 coats. It won't take much.
And what's up with the purple? Looks like you painted your rotors too.

Purple? What inspired you to do that?

I like I said above its what the owner wanted. Most everyone is doing red, her car has charcoal interior so a lot more colors can work out. She loves silvers, charcoals and purples.
And most likely my Cobra. Although it has charcoal painted calipers and rotors.
