Sure the paint will be alright,
but the alignment holes underneath may deter you....

Use a good thick piece of fishing line, a few feet long.

I've done this. Mine was askew slightly on the driver's side and I wanted to straighten it. I simply heated the entire badge with a hairdrier. Then I used my
blockbuster card (Super thin clear laminate) and worked it from the top left
corner. The badge itself is fragile plastic and seems like it could snap or
fold in half .. so be gentle! To align it properly I had to break one of the pins off
(there are two alignment holes in the fender) the back of the badge. I then simply stuck it right back on with the original double-sided tape still on the badge.
Good Luck!

I used floss when I took mine off. I heated it up first with a blowdryer though. But, if you have fishing line, that will work much better. The floss will break on you a few times.

And WD40 with a microfiber towel will remove the left over adhesive on the paint

This is so cool, blockbuster to fishing line, and Boomer is right about the alignment holes underneath detering me. This site is the look before you leap site for Mustangs. Thanks

If the badge is off, wouldn't warranty cover it?

I love that eh?
If someone else has done it...learn from it.
We're all here to help each other.

If you were covering it with say...a running pony, no problem...
but if you wanted to 'shave' the badges off...you'd have to have a body shop fill the holes and paint.
pain, i know... if there were no holes, I'd be doing the SAME thing
