Super Snake your Stang
Those are vinyl stripes, and they are a dead match for Alloy. They came from a company called ACI, their website is itspaint.com. Chris is a really nice guy. I do plan on getting some black wheels and have considered Razors, but would want to widen them, so I've decided to go with CS40s and powdercoat the centers black. Thanks for all the comments. As soon as I get more pics off my camera, I'll post more.

Thanks for that vinyl company. I had dismissed vinyl stripes due to the crosshatch pattern.....must fight temptation.
that black gt is that a shelby or is that a trufiber hood?.. looks as if theres a crease i dunno it could be jjus tthe lighting... DOnt the trufibers have the creas in the center front to back but everythign else is pretty close ?
Army
did you get your hood ordered yet (if so, did you get it somewhere else or from shelby direct), and if so, what did they tell you on the time it would take to arrive?
I made a promise to my wife about not doing anything to the mustang this year, but if the hood is a LONG wait, I'm not so sure I wont go ahead and put one on order. When I do my conversion over the winter in January, I don't wanna get caught having to wait till May to get my hood (if I actually do go with shelby verses the trufiber). I want my new front end with hood and mirrors as well as removing my vinyl stripes and painting them back on to be ready to roll as soon as it starts warming up and the snow disappears. Hopefully that wont be a problem, but I wanna have all the parts ready for just one trip to the painters. Of course, all you guys getting the "super snake" striping is killing me and making me wonder if I'd rather do that then the dual 10" stripes I have now.
I am rather stoked since with the overtime I worked yesterday I am prolly within about $300-$400 from over the top for getting this entire conversion covered cost wise (as long as prices dont go up before I actually order it all).
Thanks for any info you can pass along.

Andretti, FYI i ordered mine mid Feb. this year and got it 3 weeks later beginning of March.
I wonder if there are delivery issues due to the Shelby plant carrying out Super Snake conversions on customers GT500's, they probably get all the hoods first and what's left over gets sold over Shelby Performance Parts.

From what I know they have completely changed the process of how the areaking the super snake hoods. It is now an injection molded hood as opposed to a two piece fiberglass hood. That might have something to do with getting them out to the public.
On another note if youre considering painting stripes as opposed to vinyl you really should check out itspaint.com. Their method of doing stripes is different and better than anything I've seen. They can also color match any ford oem color. Their stripes are also much cheaper than paint and offer a 5 year warranty. I was really skeptical about putting vinyl back on my shelby, but this product is awesome. His stripes even have metallics in them.

Andretti.
I called shelby i think either very end of may and spoke with sales guy carlos, serigo or something or another i have an email just have to go back and the exact name.
I gave C.C # so they could process the order only once hood was ready to ship ( this way it insured i would get one).
They said they were being made at the time and should only be a little bit.
I havent heard from them since so I when i get an email asking if i still want it and its ready to ship then ill get it. I was told i could cancell the order at anypoint with no charge.
also I think this hood for some reason looks better with the SINGLE SS style stripe. and the KR hood looks better with the duals cause of the splitter in the center coming out I dunno personal preference i guess.

i only paid around $1,800 for my stripes front to back including lots of clear coat to even out the bumps and give a great lustrous shine, when you compare that price to that of Shelby's Super Snake stripe kit $1,400 (for vinyl) that's not a bad deal and my body shop really worked hard doing this to a show quality finish.
So what would the stripes cost front to back from itspaint.com including installation?

I guess I dont follow you. Does shelby offer another type of hood besides the Super Snake or are you referring the the "KR" as the trufiber "venom" hood?

The KR hood is not for general public purchase, I think the hood in question is the Venom...only the Super Snake as seen on mine is officially obtainable from Shelby.
Well I was kinda a test run for the super snake stripes from itspaint.com. I have well under $1000 in mine, with installation. The SS stripes from Shelby are going to be way more expensive then need to be paid from vinyl stripes. On top of everything else itspaint.com can match Ford OEM colors, which was the biggest thing for me. I didn't want to paint mine, in case, for some God forsaken reason I ever have to sell my Shelby, I'd return it to stock. itspaint.com's most expensive stripe kit currently is $243, however I think that the SS stripes from them were going to be a little more expensive.
