Summer Tires...what do you think???

I have successfully made it through the winter with my all season ContiExtremeContact Tires purchased last fall. Had 0 problems with Ice and Snow using them on my daily driving Pony here in Missouri. Spring is approaching and I need to get a set of Summer Tires since I am sick of feeling "squishy" on corners. I would like opinions of either of these tires, or recommendations of others that have been used with superior cornering traction, gripping, and hydroplaning resistance.

One premise though...they must be available in 275/40/18.

My two choices being considered at this point are:

Nitto NT555's
Eagle F1 GS/D3

Price, while a consideration, is not paramount.

I know the Nitto's are popular with the group. Please feel free to convince me to go with them or whatever you feel a good Summer time solution.

Opinions?

I've had my NItto 555s since October last year and love them, although I've never really pushed them. I do know that my car handled noticeablely better after the swap and then better yet after lowering it. I drove mine all winter(only had a couple of snow falls more than 2"). They don't hook well at all in the cold, but they aren't made for cold temps so I can't complain. I've never come close to losing it. I will find out this year how they do in the warmer temps. I've never run any Gooyear Eagles to know how they are.

I also got Nitto 555's and so far I think they are a great steet tire. I tried them at the track last year and needless to say had traction problems all day, but I pretty much expected that. I also definantly wouldnt use them in the snow, but I love them during the summer on the street and will probably buy again.
