Stripes Installed on Redfire

They are on! I think the installer did as good as anyone could and really tweaked them where they needed to be. Great guy.

These are Charcoal Metalllic and they match the wheels. For the spreadsheet, these are 10.5 at 1.5 apart.

I would like to add that I have looked at many cars (via pictures) and had it decided that 10.5 is what is needed to be wide enough and 1.5 is the minumum distance apart. After seeing them in person I would say that 10 by 1 would have been OK too. They look SO much different in pictures and from far away. My personal taste is that 2" would have been too far apart. The person who striped it normally does 10 by 1.

Thanks guys.

NJ3: I guess I guess I should email you, but you need to tell me how those struts/shocks work out for you. I am waiting for my BMR LCAs to come in to see if it takes care of the wheel hop. If not, I might just go all out and lower it. Looking at using the Ultra spring also.

Looks great - I've studied lots and lots of pictures too and decided to go with 10.5 x 1. They're going on this weekend. I also noticed what a great job your installer did on the rear, esp around the center stop light and rear bumper. Those are hard! Your pictures really show the detail, excellent job!

Very nice!

What was the cost of installation?

Any reason why it wasn't striped all the down to the lower valence lip?

Just came back for another look.

Is the gap around the rear emblem normally so large?

Total cost for installation and materials was $425+tax. The metallic brought the cost up on materials.

This was a custom made set, so it is going to have some differences when you compare it to some of the kits you can buy online. I suggested he change the distance around the GT emblem to be closer. He said he has done it both ways and thinks this is a cleaner look.. eh.. it's all opinion. That is one part of the vinyl he had set on his computer to cut already. Everything else was cut on the fly. This guy can handle a blade pretty well. Actually, he is going to touch up around the brake light as there is a slight imperfection in his cut there.

He made the install look easy, except the front bumper. He actually did that dry! He said doing it that way makes it easier to stretch and form where needed. He has done the heat gun method too, but didn't need it this go around. He usually works with 10" and he says the 10.5" makes it a little more difficult. He doesn't normally go to the very bottom in the front for scraping reasons and keeps the back to match.

I watched him do the whole thing. He took a break to run back to his shop to get something for another customer and then came back. He started around 10:30 and left at around 2. The break was close to 45 minutes, so it didn't take him too long.

Buzzy: Take pictures and post! I have adapted to the 1.5" just fine now. The 1" will look very nice and even better close up, I think.

Thanks for the kind words all!

I've always said that stripes would look like crap on a redfire car. It's not a "boy racer" color, and there is nothing that won't clash with it.

I'm officially eating my words. Those stripes look good! You picked a great color, and I'm amazed at how well the two go together.

Nicely done.

ttbit,

Let us know how the LCAs work too. My shocks\struts arrived today and I planned to install today but that didn't work out. I'll let you know how I like the shocks\struts also.

I posted a thread on the performance mods section. I have them installed, but my wheel hop remains. It seems to be better though.
