Here is a photo of one of the new items from street scene. these are tape on urethane side/ brake ducts. They fit well and were a hit at SEMA. These are available now through any Street Scene distributor.

Thanks,

Looks good, Mike. I have to say those are the only good looking side scoops I've seen for the '05/06. They would really complete a '66 Shelby styled '05/06.

BTW, you have a PM.

Yes- I work for Street Scene. I often post pictures of products to get the reactions of people on this sight. We value the input of everyone on this sight..

I'd like to see items that are better integrated with the car's existing lines. Lately, it seems that people are obsessed with tacking on as much extra plastic as they can. The current model's designer stressed simplicity; many of these add-ons defeat that purpose.

well, mIke, i'd like to say yall did one heck of a job makingthe body kit for the 05. It was the best fitting, best quality bodykit i'veever done. There was very little prep work need to be done, all the lines were fairly straight, required little blocking, and the style is sooo nice. i give yall 10/10 on this one. Just make me sum grilles for the side holes in the fornt fascia! ( someethingwith the same pattern as the grilles yall make for the bottom of the valance) or some brake ducts...... i'll test the fitment and efficincy ofthem if yall like....- Roger

Celtic I think you have to make a choice, scoops or no scops. If you look at the 65 Shelby, the first car Carrol stuck the side scoops on to cool the rear brakes, they werent integrated with the cars exisitng line either. They basicly looked stuck on .Same with the remaining Shelbys 68 and 69, the scoops look about like these street scene scoops, stuck on. If you like the simplicity of the new 05's lines I dont think your going to find any scoop that adds to that with out looking stuck on.

The '65 Shelby didn't have side scoops.

Exactly right. The '66 Shelby GT350's had them a year later, and they did appear "stuck on"... just like every side scoop from then until now. If you are going to add on side 'brake duct' scoops or quarter window scoops, they are going to appear tacked on, no metter what. I guess it just depends on whether or not you like the look.

Points taken, my friends. The car is a blank canvas and we're all free to add or subtract things we think will enhance her appearance. I just think some are more tastefully done than others. For instance, I loved the louvers I just installed on my car, but after having them a while, I've come to think ones with a lower profile might be better. That's why I've purchased a set of 9-vent louvers from SS Inserts. They retain the shape of the glass, but cover it completely, unlike the SSE's I purchased earlier. Once installed, I think these low-profile louvers will enhance "Lucky's" lines nicely. Guess I'm fickle. And my body shop loves seeing me!

In hindsight, I suppose it's better that we don't necessarily have to remove anything in order to add something (with the possible exception of the rear wing spoiler in lieu of a ducktail, naturally).
