Dan,

We heard from Bryan on how the springs perform. Lets hear your opinion. or :notnice:

I'll say one thing. It does look better lowered. Have you noticed that you scrap the bottom of the car on curbs more? That curb does look pretty close in the picture.

hahahahaha LMAO!!! I did not even see that until you mentioned it.

SIDE NOTE: That would explain why there was a little spider on my dash board when I picked up the car. He was able to just lift a leg up from that planter curb and grab onto my bumper.

Wanna know what kind of spider it was?

....a dead one!!!

Your engine light shouldn't come on after installing pulleys... they don't have anything to do with the computer. And I wouldn't think the engine light would come on after installing springs. Anyone else know why the light may have come on?

Thanks for the comment Smitty. Much like Bryan, the ride is fantastic. My factory alignment was slightly off, but knew it would be fixed with the new alignment after springs.

No popping sounds anymore.

Handling is superior to stock.

Accelerations lock you in your seat a lot firmer (less give on rear springs)

Ride is firmer and you will feel some more imperfections in the road. (but I love that you and road are one, feeling)

Squirrelly rear end factor is way cooler (ummm, so I have heard)

I wish I had the money to compliment the new wheel to wheel well ratio but that is next month. (19X9s 19X10s) Will post pix of course.

Overall satisfaction with Steeda Springs is 10 out of 10!!!!!

I am thinking the same thing, but thought I would ask. Install shop is doing diagnostic tomorrow. Heard a few comments about Xcal users being asked if they had UP kit installed prior to program tune.

Dunno :bang:

I am finally getting my Steeda springs installed with an alignment today. Price for labor is $350 total.

I have been waiting since December. As most of you know, there was a pigtail issue that made a popping noise on their first batch of springs. They have worked out the problems and now I have a set of proper Steedas waiting for my baby.

I will take before and after pix of course, and post them when the job is done.

Steeda advertises 3/4" drop, but some have had more than that with their Steedas installed. I will also post these numbers...

...stay tuned!!!
I've talked to four shops about Eibach Pro Kit install and lowest quote was $580 -- am i missing something or can labor in Seattle be that much more? They're looking at 2004 Mustang install sheets and estimating 8 hours' labor ...

Looks great! When you go with the wider wheels/tires, it will look fantastic.

I just got an email from Steeda:

No programming is necessary. If you do a code scan on the car you will probably find misfire codes. If this is what comes up, the crank pulley was not torqued down properly, allowing the trigger wheel behind the timing cover to wobble and provide an inaccurate signal to the crank position sensor. The crank pulley will need to be re-installed to solve this problem.

I will present this to my installer...

update to come

Thought I would bring this up from the graveyard. Have seen a couple posts regarding springs. Hope it helps!

PM or post any questions you may have. This is one of my favorite mods by far!

Car looks great. Thanks for the before & after reference shots. That's just what we needed.
I'm curious though, why are you adding wheel spacers?
When you put on the 19x9's they will stick out an extra half an inch and adding 19x10's to the rear will add an extra inch. And that's assuming you can find +45mm offsets. Any less and they're sticking out even more. Won't wheel spacers only add to all this?

Didn't know that. Just brainstorming. I will definitely make sure before I purchase. What are the stock widths? Front? Rear?

Stock is 17x8 front and rear with a +45mm offset. The smaller the number, compared to the stock offset, the more the wheel & tire will stick out compared to the stock position.

For instance. Wheels for an '04 Mustang usually have a +24mm offset. If you put those on an '05, the difference of 21mm will make them stick out almost a full inch from where the stock wheel is. For me, that's just barely over the limit of what I'd accept. However, add in the fact that I'm putting wider wheels on there and that adds another 1/2" up to 1". Now you're looking at the wheel & tire sticking out TWO INCHES. That's way beyond what looks good. Some guys either don't mind, don't notice, or are in denial, that their wheels stick out when they put on the wrong ones. Personally, I care a little more about how my car looks.
