Steeda Hood with CDC/Steeda Hood Struts

OK so currently i have the CDC/Steeda/MRT Hood struts on stock hood with no issues. However i have seen a few people with them and aftermarket hoods where the added pressure of the struts causes a bow in the hood so that it does not sit flush. Does anyone know or have the Steeda Cowl hood with the Steeda Hood struts? Here are links to both products.

I don't have the Steeda hood but my aftermarket hoos did gain a slight bulge on top of the one it naturally had when the Steeda hood struts where added. Only way i got rid if it was to shim the fenders. looks a lot better now.

Well i decided to send a email to Steeda asking them and here is the reply.

We do not recommend the hood struts with aftermarket hoods. They can cause bowing.

So they just lost the sale of a hood

I dont have mine installed. The brackets are all there, so I just pop them on for shows, then pop them off after the show, or when I get home.
No one works on my car besides me, and usually Ill just grab an old broom stick to hold it up if doing an oil change. detailing under the hood or longer jobs Ill pop the struts on to hold er up.

I dont think you should hold back from buying the hood if its what you like.
Just because hood struts cant be used on them.

When I switched out to a fiberglass hood I ditched my Redline hood struts and went with the MRT Hood Struts . They have a plate that mounts to the hood hinge so there are no "pressure points" on the hood to cause a buldge.
