Bought an '07 off the lot and hate the spoiler ........ any ingenious methods of removal and filling the holes without those ugly ducktail brackets or having the whole trunk lid redone?
Also, going to 18/9's and 18/10 bullitts ........ and tire preferences?
Seems like the BFG g Force is what I've seen so far.

I can tell you the spoiler is a real pain to get off. Took me several hours over two weekends. It's just not fun. Fishing line (doubled up and WD 40).
Some people found a plug at the hardware store. Otherwise it's the body shop and paint for you.

I don't know what your factory spoiler was mounted with but it took me about 15 minutes to remove the factory one on my car and only about 2 hour to install the roush and I had to drill 10 extra holes.

I agree the wing is a pain to remove. The double sided tape they used under and around the mounting bolts took forever to remove. It is by far the hardest bolt on piece I have ever taken off.

Be patient and take your time. Use a lot of WD-40 or other lube to work the dental floss or fishing line under and around the mounting bolts. There will be a lot of residue, from the double sided tape, left on the car. Again, take your time removing this. I used WD-40, but it is time consuming. I took two evenings to get everything off and cleaned up.

I tried filling the holes with four plastic plugs from the parts store. They actually looked alright with the Sirius antenna - looked like they were supposed to be there.

However, the guy who bolted the wing on, at the factory, must have been related to the Hulk, as there were dents in the sheet metal in front of and behind the holes. I couldn't live with it, so after a week, I put the GT 500 spoiler on.

Have someone else there to help remove the wing as it can fly off and back toward the car (dents!), as reported by other folks who have done this. My wife helped with the take off and with the installation of the new spolier.

The wing is no big deal to remove! As I posted before 15 to 20 minutes tops! Unless your dealing with some kind of mental or physical handicap! There are many good paint cleaners on the market to remove the gasket seal! besides spraying frigging W-D40 all over your car. I use Meguiar's Deep Crytstal " Paint Cleaner " works great for removing 3m tape and the adhesive gasket used by the factory!........

the makers of pb blaster make an awesome decal remover that would work well on that glue as well. I would do that and break out the clay bar for spoiler removal. luckily all i had to do was check the correct box on the order form

With a heat gun you can have the tape off in SECONDS with no residue. Your finger tips might get a bit toasty, but that'll just make you work faster. 13D for me!

I wonder how much it'd cost to get a new, spoilerless trunklid from the factory...and if it'd be possible to trade it in at the dealership.

I think they run about $250ish unpainted. Throw in another couple hundred for paint and I'll bet you're near $500 out of pocket.

If done right I'd bet you'll get pretty close to $400 to fill the holes and paint the lid. That's my WAG.

Ah, good info...if I was doing it, I think I'd spend the extra $100 and not have filled holes. I have the spoiler, and I really don't like it. Aside from looking ugly, it impedes my rear vision ever so slightly. I think this is something to look into for the future.

I've read it is around $300....it all depends on the shop you go to really.

The spoiler is not that hard to remove. Have a body shop fill the holes and paint the lid (that is what I did). As for the BFG tires, let me tell you that they are loud. I have 50,000km on mine now and will be replacing them next year. I hate driving down the road and having it sound like I fitted the car with all terrain truck tires.

I've had several estimates. The cheapest was a crazy Polish guy's shop for $450 and all the way up to $1200! The average was 600-700. Most places say they won't have room to blend the paint and the metal will bend when welded. I guess body shop are out of control in my area if you guys are getting this done for $300-$400.
