I'm thinking about going for it obn the Saleen HIDS. I know they are fricking expensive. But I don't really care.
Anyone installed them yet? What are your impressions of the light pattern?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm looking to buy them but I'd like to see if anyone has already made the plung.

Cool,
Hopefully someone will reply. I'm ready to order if everything is cool. I was reading the service manual. It suggest that it will be necessary to remove the Bumper cover to replace the housings.

I dont know about all of you, but If I had 1100 dollars to blow it sure wouldnt be on some bulbs or hid, I would be putting that down towards a supercharger or something that really will do a lot for the car, instead of a bulb or lighting system because it looks blue and bright. Just my thoughts that this system is too much for too little.

Do they also replace the fogs? It would look pretty funny having Xenon head lights and Halogen fog lights

bpmurr,
from what i gather from other threads, sylvania will not be making silverstars for the '05 Mustangs- H13 bulbs. it has something to do about them not being permitted to coat that particular bulb due to a gov't regulation of sorts.
Sylvania and other lighting companies have been permitted to coat bulbs up to now. why not the H13s? i think H13s go by the 9008 part number too.
seems pretty incredible and preposterous if you ask me. but when you have our fine gov't involved in matters, then i wouldn't put anything past them.
guys have received official sylvania word about no H13 Silverstars, not now and in the future- as in never. what a bummer.
i seem to recall that CDC might make a HID for the mustang. their SEMA mustang uses Jaguar HID lights in a custom enclosure. i read that they definitely won't sell it that way, but if they deem it feasible, they may go ahead with another HID for sale.
since i caught wind of silverstars, i put them in no less than 6 cars of my friends and family. we all love the whiter, brighter visibility afforded by the silverstars.
when i pull next to nissans, beemers, audis and other cars w/ HID, i lust for HIDs in my '05 GT. i too wonder what color temperature the saleen HID lights are. i go for only 4,000K to 5,000K, which is white. the closer to 4,000K, the better for me.
in the end, it may be the saleen HIDs for me too.

Fog/Driving light
9145
9145ST Silverstar High Performance Lighting: the whitest and brightest Halogen
I could car less about the driving lights. I'll upgrade them to real HID no matter what. My experience with SilverStars is that they last no more then say 6 months with normal use. If I can keep my fogs looking pretty close I think it will help the look of the car. It probably won't look bad though with HID and stock bulbs in the fogs. I guess I'll put some money down on the HID kit and see for myself. lol
I have a quick question, and maybe it's a dumb one, but why can't we cut the wires to the 9008 housing and use a different housing for a different bulb, something that is more standard and available for less than 1,200 from saleen? I mean, couldn't you buy the housing to any bulb at a part shop? isn't the opening to put the bulbs in fairly standard? Someone that knows please reply...
Thanks...
Thanks...

I do live in a very hilly part of AZ (Fountain Hills) when driving on rolling hills or any incline over 20 mph it feels like your blind, on level roads, over 45 and you feel your over driving the low beams! (even with fogs on) this was before I installed the pro-kit springs, now it a little worse, I'm ready to adjust the headlights, and see if it was just out of adjustment, any sugestions on adujustment? looks like there are screws under hood for this, are the fogs adjustable?
If I had the $, HID's would be an option but even then I would worry about the sharp cut off HID's have at top of beam (dad has BMW 5 series w/ HID's) and its great everywhere except when driving on rolling hills
for some people safe driving at night is worth more then extra performance, then again, some people just have enough money to do both
