It is Pretty Much The Same Discussion as Removing the Stock Spoiler and Dealing with the Holes. If you car Does not Have a spoiler Then Definitely it sticks out more. Here in a Nut Shell are Your Options in my opinion.

1. Relocate your Antenna under the Rear Package Tray. Members have done this and it Functions Fine.

2. Put a Plug in the Hole. Not the Best Looking Solution but Cheap.

3. Have a Bodyshop Repair the Hole. Not Cheap.

4. Get a New Decklid and Have it Painted to Match. Not Cheap

5. Find Somebody to Swap Decklids who is adding Sirius. Hard to Find.

6. Get a Spoiler that is More Forgiving as to Blending with the Antenna. My Gt-500 Has Sirius and I believe it blends a lot better than say a GT- t Wing. More cost effective than Most.

Jason, you don't say what, if any, spoiler your car has. If you have already have the spoiler holes, I'd go with option 6. KC's right on the money.

I'm planning on buying a 09 GT with spoiler delete. SO i was trying to plan ahead and see if anyone had done that before. I wish for gave you the option to have a premium gt with no sirius.

or give me and option of a Deluxe GT trunk with no hole!

That is one of the reasons I ended up going with an '08 instead of an '09. I really did not want satellite radio or that ugly antenna (spoiler delete all the way for me) on the trunklid. I looked a lot of Bullitts before I got my regular GT, and many of them had that horrible bump on the trunk. All '09 Bullitts had it. It might seem small to some people, but it would be a deal-killer for me.

one thing that i dont like is that ford went cheap here; i have a car with an antenna and it was factory painted the same color as the car and does not stand out as much and i have seen other makes as well with a color coded antenna; i am sure most of us would pay a little more for this consideration.

Option 7

Get Car without Sirius. I can Sell you a Factory Kit to Add Later.
$370.00 + UPS Ship. FYI, These are Getting Very Hard to get.

Can't we just have the antenna painted body color? I really didn't think about that for mine until it was just mentioned above. If it works under the package tray, I imagine that a few layers of paint and clear shouldn't cause many problems.

IMO, the Sirius button on the trunk is a freakin' ABOMINATION and an affront to the Mustang's design. It just looks stupid, as if Ford just said "ah, well, screw it, put another unneeded hole in the body (a la the fenders)

The package tray is an excellent idea, as would have been on the roof... but on the TRUNK!?

Somebody needs to explain the problem to the idiot(s) who came up with this particularly stunning bit of spectacular fail.

Man, I've wanted a thread like this to vent my frustration about the little button antenna... and I don't even *HAVE* Sirius... nor want to. I have CDs. But it made me sick when I saw a beautiful 08 DHG Bullitt in a showroom whilst I was having Awesome taken care of on a TSB issue, and it had that dang thing smack in the middle of the trunk.

For shame, Ford. For shame.

The painted white one looks much better. Unfortunately, Vapor Silver is not as easy to acquire as white. I'll have to wait until I get my Silver Horse Racing louvered windows and have the antenna painted at the same time. Thank you for the picture. Could the base have been painted?

Ditto on #6. I have the Shelby spoiler in the back and I hardly notice the Sirius boil. But if you are doing the spoiler delete, then order it without and install it later. If you go aftermarket, maybe the antenna might look different anyway. It is too bad the satellite can't be incorporated into the existing antenna up front. As small as it is, you would think they could put it in the base of the front antenna mount.

The base is rubber and I chose not to paint it since I don't think paint sticks too well to rubber. It tends to crack and peel.

Now that makes sense. I really have not looked too much at the antenna so I hadn't realized it was rubber.
