I absolutely love side pipes....is it a bad idea to have side pipes on a vert if people ride in the back (my kids)?

Only if the pipes curve up and dump fumes into the back seat.

So if they are normal pipes shooting straight out then I shouldnt have any cause to worry?

It is my early mid-life-crisis car but I still want to make sure the family is safe.

Can you even have side pipes on the '05? Thought I heard that Roush didn't do side pipes on the new stang because there was no good way to implement them.

As far as I know you can't have side pipes on the 05 stang.

I have a vert with side exhaust, no problems here (as in no one complained about exhaust fumes in the back). Also while Roush does not offer side exhaust I did see the LNR has side exhaust and I am sure a kit will be out soon enough for anyone wanting to run it.

If you can find a way to route the pipes then you won't have any issues. But i have not seen any 05s with a side pipe setup due to the placement of the mufflers. Kill those and just go straight pipes and you shouldn't have any issues.

Correct me if I am wrong but you can't have side exhaust on the new stang due to the placement of the gas tank. Even the aftermarket Eleanor kits like the ranaele kit has a fake side exhaust rocker panel kit.

maybe you could use a corvette style muffler with the inlet and outlet on the same side, and go back over the axle and out the side?
