Careful powder coating unless they are steel wheels. That baking process will make the wheels brittle.
Its a universal no no from what I have read. Paint sure! but no powercoating the aluminum wheels.

It looks like gray paint with some clearcoat. Anyway it sure looks good!!

I research things insanely before doing anything. I work for a ford dealer and from what I'm told ford uses an acrylic powder coat process on the fan blades. It was so tough that the powder coater had to send them out to be liquid honed. Everything I have read since your post says the aluminum can with stand much higher heat then the baking process.

Thttp://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.c...151053&page=10he link below may help.

If you pick a wheel you really like just go for it,then post a pic. Your first idea is usually the best for your car...and you. It may a new styled contemporary design but so what. Its nice to see something different.

Ok, I know this isn't the "Show us your wheel cap" thread, but thought I would share an inexpensive mod to make your wheels look a little more unique. Got them from Kevin Casey (TMS user name 05stangKC)

These are the same wheel caps available on the Caroll Shelby wheels (you usually see the red version)
