Should I stripe my car?

I have a black V6 and was thinking of putting matte black stripes on it (10", 2" gap from Baltimore Street Mods). The pictures I've seen of other black cars with black stripes look pretty slick. What do you guys think? Will the car look better or too busy. I'm trying to keep a nice clean look. Also, if I do the stripes should I also go with the rocker stripe on the doors?

Here is a picture of the look I was going for. When the Shelby GT came out in 2007, I really liked the look of it, but didn't want to do the silver stripes. I think the matte black stripes might look good on my car, still keeping a clean look but a bit sportier. You guys are making me think I should keep it like it is though. Any thoughts?

if you do i would just do the stripes and not the rocker stripes. i think they would go well with your wheels though.

+1, you may also want to consider the charcoal metallic colour at BSM. It looks pretty good on black cars...there is some pic on the "Show us your stripes....." thread.

With regards to ordering from BSM....I am not so sure. I have tried calling them and no one answers and the mailbox is full. I have also emailed them, but no one has responded. I am looking for stripes for mine as well. Auto Trim Design might be a good alternative.

Ask what kind of stripe they use. I had charcoal metallic from BSM and they used 3m. At the time the stripes had a criss cross pattern that was supposed to make it easier to install and allow it to dry quicker. The pattern never went away and made the stripes look dull. I switched over to Oracal stripes and they went on just as easy and look much glossier. I can send you pics of each if youd like to see the differance. The oracal looks much closer to the gloss of the paint.

Just one warning about "matte" stripes. Note that you don't want to get wax on them. Or at least ask about waxing them before you do. For what it's woth, I like the matte stipes on Black.

of course you should stripe it...
the kit you want/need is the Roush BLACKJACK stripe, matte BLACK.
you can purchase it at BSM. its a single 21-inch piece. straight forward on the install, can be done at home w/ patience.
black car w/ matte stripes are the COOLEST. (imho)

I am not so sure if BSM is still in business. I have emailed and called them but no one has returned anything.
