And one more, it gives a good idea of the remaining gap after the springs.

I am going to be installing the Eibach Pro-Damper shocks. It was a pretty rough ride this year with the lowering springs. The proper shocks should get the car back to feeling close to stock. I won't be installing these until next spring when I put my car back on the road.

Generally, different shocks are required / desirable to get the full benefit of the lowering. The spring rates are higher and the valving needs to be more to keep it damped, particularly on the rebound side. The shocks also provide some of the resisting force of the suspension travel . 'Generally' if you lower the car 1" to 1.5" you are reducing the compression travel, 30% or more. So if you want to minimize the amount of times your suspension bottoms out, the uprated shocks will help (but not necessarily totally prevent).

Most people did, but it's not absolutely necessary.

The rear end comes from the factory off-center but because the tires are so far from the wheel well, it's not very noticable. Once the car is lowered, it becomes obvious how much the factory screwed up. (same thing happens when you put on wider tires) Most people assume it's off-center soley because the car was lowered.

Before you lower it measure to see if your rear end is off-center. Then re-measure after you lower it. (The stock panhard bar can be moved about 3/8".) If it's still off, then you can look into an adjustable bar. It's very easy to put on after the fact so don't spend the money if you don't need to.

I lowered the back only by cutting off the first full coil from the top of the rear springs. It lowered the car about 3/4 of an inch and evened out the gaps. The change in the side clearance between the tire and the fenderwell is negligible, so I will not be installing an adjustable panhard bar. Maybe later I'll do the Pro-kit thing, but I'm happy for now. And it was FREE!!

Thanks to everyone who did this before me and made my decision and job easier. This forum is a great source of information and the opinions are sometimes very entertaining.

Before and after difference with the Eibach Pro Kit on the 06 Mustang. The before pics were taken at the shop by Lidio and he only just sent them to me today. The drop was just over 1 1/2 inches all the way around.

A pic of mine with the Eibach Pro kit and stock 17" Bullitts is elsewhere in this thread. Here's a couple of pics of my car with the 18" deep dish Bullitts from Mustang Tuning. It now sits the way it should have from the factory

That's a HUGE rake.
What springs are those? Did you only drop the front?

Well that's the Zaino kit... and a LOT of a** busting to get there.

Did the WHOLE thing that day - wash with dishliquid, claybar, rewash with Zaino wash, then two coats of Zaino polish. Wish I could have the car look that pristine ALL the time.
It had been a while since I did the whole deal on the car but I will tell you, running your finger along the car, it was like GLASS.

Those pics were taken maybe an hour or so after finishing.
