Shelby Razors

The ones I see most of you running, are these American Racing Shelby Razors, or is there a different type that are just Shelby Razors? I can see Shelby etched in some, but not so much in the chrome wheels.

American Racing makes the wheels for Shelby. They used to be available without the "Shelby" etching, and they were a bit cheaper, but I think now they only sell the Shelby version.

I respect Shelby for all he has done for auto sports but putting his name on everything Mustang is getting old.American Racing should give the option for a non-Shelby labled rim like they used to.

I totally agree. That being said, a set of black Razors is high on my list when I'm ready to upgrade wheels.

Unless you own a Shelby, then you can't get enough Shelby branded stuff. Besides, I highly doubt it's Shelby America searching out all these companies to put their name on everything. I'd bet that it's everyone else coming to Shelby asking for his endorsement. And with the amount of people that buy it why wouldn't companies want to have Shelby on their product.

Back on topic, I'll take a set of Shelby Razors in black as well.

Why don't the Razors come in 10"?

What's the widest tire you've seen put on these Razors?

Bill, 9" is the widest they come in. Not sure of the widest tire put on them however I run a 275 on mine. I have seen 285's as well. I have seen guys over on Team Shelby forums send two of their wheels out to Weld Craft and have the rims width extended to 10" and even 11" in some cases. here is a thread where someone did it with his stock GT500 wheels. I am thinking about doing this down the road.

They still list the non-shelby version on their website.

Nothing against Shelby but the thought of one spoke being different really bugged me. That's why I painted my AR Razors.

My friend has 305's on his Razors. They don't look horrible, but they do rub just a little. Many guys over on team shelby have widened their Razors to 10".

I think it's $200 a wheel. I saw a guy post that he had his rears widened and sent back for about $490. His were chrome wheels so it cost a little more. I believe this was shipping the wheels back from Weldcraft to Houston.

If I had my rear razors widend to 12" do you guys think it would be possible to squeeze a 345 out back? I really need to do something to gain some traction with the paxton on there now.
