I'm confused take off the GT labels also that are already on it? Remove the rear cap also?? Or are you saying the first thing that people are voting for to leave it like a stock GT and not add anything?

There have been many that have made a Saleen out of a GT with Saleen parts, and even were lucky enough to have Steve Saleen sign the dash for those lucky owners. I don't see anything wrong with making a Shelby out of Shelby parts and labelling it a Shelby. So what if a couple of appearance items don't match exactly? Those aren't the most important parts that really make it a Shelby anyway.

Sometime in the near future, you may be lucky enough to be able to take your car to a show where Mr. Shelby will be making an appearance, and you might even get him to sign the dash too. Who knows?

The bottom line..... technically, it's a clone, albeit, not an exact one, but I don't think anybody here will be too concerned about how you badge it since it will be "all go", even if it's not "all show".

So the Shelby badging is currently ahead but this ^^ was not exactly what I had in mind. I don't want it to be considered a clone of a Shelby GT or a clone of a GT500 because in fact it is going to be a Shelby CS8 kit package and I want it recognized as that despite my minor modifications to it.

If you are doing it exactly the same use the same emblems Shelby got his money for the parts, you can put his emblems on, he's getting money for those too.

That or replace the GT with the SD powered by ford emblem(ironically from a Shelby AC Cobra) and change the gas cap to the classic style bar in satin from Silverhorse.

Who gives a **** if something is a "true" Shelby? The only "True" Shelby Mustangs are from the 60's.

LOL to an extent thats true although from what I've heard the cs6 was completely his design the only "shelby" mustang in recent that has been 100% his input. The Shelby GT was mainly him as well but he sacrificed several things supposably such as doing the FRPP parts... and the GT500 has many cues that he provided input (not wanting a response on this because this fight has been hashed out on 20 diff threads) but this had full input atleast. Unfortunately they don't build them and they build the Shelby GT therefore I honestly think this and the Shelby GT are very close to "true" shelby's. But thats my opinion lol I don't want to start a debate because I've seen this one torn through about 5 million times hahaha.

i voted GT badges, but personally, i would debadge it all together. IMO looks very clean with no badges. I like my car to be MY car, not a replica of thousands of other people driving downt he road. Badges are used to classify your car..... why do you need to clasify it? Let it speak for itself and run no badges.

I coud not agree more, the shelby's of today have done nothing but tarnish his legacy, IMO.

I thought that the CS6/CS8 were kits that you could get put on your car by SAI?

No actually they are kits but SAI doesn't do installs on them currently. They do them occasionally but the list is actually pretty long to get on and due to them doing the shelby gt's and all of the other kits their working on they are pretty back logged. So the cs6/cs8 is purchased and then installed yourself.

I honestly don't think so. Yes they are not as intensive as the modifications that were done in the past but the original shelby's of 65 actually had very minimal modifications done. It wasn't till the later years of 67/68 that the modifications were major. Honestly the difference between a 65 gt350 and a base 65 before shelby modified it isn't as huge as many people think. Just my two cents not trying to start a rave. Overall though I personally am a huge Shelby fanatic (obviously).

I say badge it a shelby!!
I'd call it a shelby.

The gt500 clones are just rip-off's cuz they're not the same engine.
While yours will be just like a CS8. with the exception of who put the parts together.

I mean it's the same product in all aspects right?

Then go for it!! you have my approval, haha.

it's not going to be exact if it was I would definately badge it shelby. There are going to be a couple of minor differences... i.e. front fascia, shifter, different colors (offical is to have silver stripes I will have black), different tune also
