Shelby GT-H & GT Hood pins
man....I am waiting for a day where the hood pin systems are made of alluminum....because as you can see....they RUST!!!
This was a car out of Boston. The Hertz manager told me that the Florida cars were stainless. I don't have any way to verify that or why this one rusted without exposure to any winter driving, etc. Good questions to ask AmyB.
i have the ones that come on the shelbys and they are stainless and have not rusted, they are really just the Ford Racing hood pins just under another name but you can pickup a kit for about $35 they only thing showing a bit of rust is the inside of the ring the rest is holding up well
We have them in aluminum. We had them made new and have replaced all the hertz cars that have had issues. These cars are put through a cycle no regular car is. But thats how you find things. The pins tthat have been made for 40 years, just couldn't hold up, we made all new ones and they look great!

As I said, these are exclusive to us, we were the first to make them stainless.

i've emailed Ted about this sometime back, still to get a response
My pins have started rusting too, after only 2 days of rain (luckily it barely ever rains here)
what to do?
