Shelby Front Conversion

What is the best estimate for the price of converting the front of a 2005 mustang GT to a shelby? the cost for everything...front end, installation, headlights(?), what ever else I would need
Thanks

1500 just for the bumper right? I most likely wouldnt do the install myself what do you think that would run me? Also would I need different headlights? Where did you purchase your's from Jesse?

Yup...about $1500 will do it. This includes everything...headlights,foglights, upper and lower grills and misc brackets, bolts and so on (not the hood though). The install is very easy to do. I am not sure what a body shop would charge for labor. I would guess about $400 but thats just a wild stab at it.

If you are talking about a GT500....The parts list out at (+/-) 2400.00; the hood is an extra 600.00 (aprox) Rear bumper cover kit 400.00, rear wing 250.00, emblems 150.00 for all. Labor on front end...6hrs plus paint work, rear bumper 2hrs plus paint, rear wing 1.5hrs painted. These are aproximate labor hours, based on collision repair guide.

You might want to check with KC at Clevparts (he has lots of posts here on the forums) for the latest price. Ford has boosted it up recently for the full Shelby GT 500 front fascia kit. Painting and installation at my body shop ran a little over $400.

The headlights are included in the kit along with the wiring harness for the driving lights that connects up to where your GT's fog lamps used to be.

GT 500 front end does not line-up with lines on the GT hood......

Lines on GT 500 hood and GT hood are different look around the board you might not like the end result.......

while i dont have any pics, i can tell you both are true.

the stock hood does not line up with the GT500 front fascia, in the sense that it does not flow with the headlights the same way the GT500 hood does.

however, it fits fine and there are not issues with it, except you might not like the look. i know there are pics on here somewhere of stock hoods on with the shelby front end...
edit: look at the thread below this one titled "Introducing Another GT500 clone...sort of" there are pics of the stock hood with the shelby front end

I still have the stock hood on mine with the GT500 front bumper, and personally I love the look of it. I think that the stock GT hood hangs out further than the GT500 hood and makes it look kinda sinister. Besides that they still have yet to make a hood for the GT500 that I just absolutely have to have. As stated before the price on the bumper has gone up, not sure how much though.

One thing that helped me out a lot was the fact that my body guy was willing to take my stock front bumper assembly and headlights in trade for the paint and labor, that's something you might want to try and work out with whoever you were going to have do the work.

Email Kevin Casey. Even though Ford has raised the prices, $1800 is absolutely ridiculous. He'll get you the best price possible.

Did you have it done at a Ford dealership? or at a private body shop?

Dude you car will look fine, the lines being off are minor. I am ****!!!!!! And it doesn't bother me at all.

As far as the $1500 that is paint job, tax, tag, title, etc. 2400 is when you get into making a faux Shelby with bading, hood, rear bumper etc. No thanks.

And even the most unskilled mechanic can do this swap, take your time and if you need help let me know. countless body shops and people have used my how to and had AWESOME results~

I have right at $1600 in mine. Paint and all. I did do the install myself though.

By the way I have the stock hood as well.

Hey William...do you have any clearance issues with the Cervini's side exhaust? I was considering this kit but I was not sure if I would have issues since I am lowered with steeda sport springs.
