Shelby bumper conversion #3 COMPLETED!!! With pics and write up
#121
Ford has caught on to the GT500 conversions, the price of the GT500 bumber cover has almost doubled up in the last 2 weeks. Normally the price increases are at the 1st of the month, the bumbper cover dbl in price mid month.

I just received a quote from my local Ford dealer on the parts needed to make this conversion. Anyone else think their price is out of line?
Part # 7R3Z17D957APTM Bumper $543.82
Part # 7R3Z17K945AA Grille $154.77
Part# 7R3Z17626AB Panel $61.60
Part# 7R3Z8200A Lower grille $$209.08
Part# 7R3Z15200A Fog Lamps $232.14
Total $1309.54 with freight and tax.
I just can't belive thats the cost of making the conversion, before paint.

Nice write up Jesse! Now I don't feel so aprehensive in doing that myself. Did you have to change your headlights? A few question for you did it just install over your stock headlight assemblies? What about wiring? A friend did a similar mod and it seemed he had some re-wiring work.

Rudy, prices seem right but your list is not complete. You need:
bumper
headlights
fogs
radiator sight shield
radiator support bracket
front fender liners (front portios only, same as v6)
bumper foam isolator
upper grill
lower grill
lower spoiler
fog wiring
bumper brackets (attach to bumper and slip into the bottom of headlight housing)

Sorry that it took so long to get back to you, I just moved to England. If you need faster answers email me blownterminator@yahoo.com
to answer your questions yes the headlights were changed. the Shelby ones are nice pieces though. And yes you will need to change the wiring on the fogs, the stock switch and harness are used but the connectors need to be changed. let me know if anything else comes up.

Jesse,
Thanks for the awesome write-up with instructions and pics.
I just finished my install, and all that's left is some badging and
a nice set of wheels and tires.
It really sits nice on these eibach pro springs and bilstein struts.
Thanks again, your post was most inspiring to get her done.
