Shaker Hood System Questions

I put this in the EM section cause it is more of an exterior mod part than a performance part.

I am considering purchasing the new Shaker for the V6's, but I have a few questions first.

How did those of you who have aftermarket CAI's cut your whole in your heat shield? I have the Steeda CAI and the heat shield is stainless steel.

Did you need to get anything painted?

and...

Are there any non-ordinary tools needed?

Thanks,
Scott

I cut a hole in my C&L heat shield with my Dremel. Not painting required and no special tools.

Do you know if the C&L heat shield is made of stainless steel? or aluminum?

Did you have to work with the piping at all? Or did you just line it up to the heat shield and then cut?

Thanks.

The C & L heat shield for the GT is plastic, and I would imagine the one for the V6 is too. Unless of course they have changed it.
I have the Shaker system and will be installing the C&L this weekend if things work out right.
It depends on how you want the Shaker piping to look. Some have utilized the last elbow piece (that comes with the shaker system) and others have manufactured their own straight pipe into the heat shield.
I plan to do a straight line design.
