I have a question on the shaker.....
what is it made out of? Is everything plastic?
This is kit is on my short list.

The scoop itself is cast aluminum. Everything else is plastic.

Does it feel like it could be painted? I dont know if the contrast
in blacks would look good with my stripes.

Hey CD - thanks for sharing the pic of the CDC kit.....I've been on the fence about this mod for some time now....what did you pay and I'm assuming this is the "non-hood" kit where you must cut your stock hood? Be sure to "Measure Twice"

Does anybody know what is the width of the protective ring (from outer edge to outer edge), at it's widest point?
I'm thinking about a stripe idea that has a little larger gap and outer stripe than the original 1970 design (kinda like this picture)

My template for cutting the hood was too small and had to trim more hood to get the trim ring to fit. I did it yesterday so I couldn't call their Tech support, but I am pleased how it all turned out.
I will post more pictures of my install later today.
