Sequential Taillights ... legal?

Is there anything illegal about installing the sequential taillights. I have no idea and figure there may be some stupid rule or something. I live in Georgia by the way if anyone knows.

Thanks

Not that I've ever heard of. You're probably best to call the local DMV and enquire. They probably have the regulations online. Try Google.

I only say not likely as it was standard equipment on some cars back in the 60's so I'd be surprised if they had any issue with it today as long as the lights on the rear matched what colours they wanted to see back there (red, white etc.).

I was just curious because it was mentioned somewhere else that they might be and I can't find it now.

Do a search, there is a whole thread about there legality somewhere, including actual laws on the books. Long story, short. They are completely legal.

Bottom Line. The WebElectrics are safer than stock because they are more visible, as are all the ones I've seen so far.

here in NY, when you put your turn signals on to change lanes, the guys in the next lane speed up so they don't let you in. However, after installing the sequenstials, I find that everyone is letting me in. I think they enjoy the light show :-)

I think you may be right about that one!
I love looking at their faces in the mirror when I'm stopped at a light and tap the brake pedal a few times too!

I constantly have the police behind me when im at a turn. Never had any issues. I had talked to several officers here in VA prior to my install and they have assured me that I had nothing to worry about.

I've had them in GA for a year now and have not had any problems from the cops.

I'm probably going to order these today for my GT/CS....IIRC they work like this:

1. Turn signal always cycling
2. As brake lights - they cycle once then burn steady?
3. Emergency lights - always cycling.....

Sound right?

...

That's correct Hotlap. One that you forgot to mention is when you lock your doors with the key fob they cycle through once.
