Saleen Vents?
Instead of getting the whole hood, I wonder if they will sell just the vents. Get templets, mark 'em, cut 'em and drop 'em in. Anyone seen a hood up close to see how the vents are put in the hood and what they are made of? It sure would be alot cheaper.
I dont think that would work very well, those vents have a recess in the hood that the sit on. Meaning they have a little lip that the vents sit on and are attatched to. that would be kinda hard for an average person to do. - Roger
Yes this is the type of hood I would like as well, just vents
The Saleen hood is nice yes but so expensive!
Originally I wanted to try and buy the Saleen vents and fab them into my hood, but upon seeing a Saleen in person, the vents are recessed into the hood, and it looks like a lot of trouble to try and mod the oem hood to fit.
Their are other aftermarket vents out there but they belong on cheesy Hondas! :notnice:
This hood is pretty cool though

I want to get some vents one day and put them in my hood. The ones on that hood in the pics you posted look great. That's how the original SHelby hood vents were... nothing like the Saleen ones that are ugly IMO. Those vents though are in the wrong place... they need to be further back and to the sides where the majority of the hot air ends up going in the engine bay.
Anyone know where we can get drop-in, paintable, functioning vents that resemble the ones in that pic?
