Does anyone have any pictures of a Mustang GT with the Saleen hood? I have seen tons of saleen hood pics on the actual saleen cars, but I have yet to see someone install the hood as an aftermarket accessory on their car (or at least pics of it).

I am thinking about ordering it for my as-yet-to arrive White GT 06, but really want to see it online first.

Thanks!

Go to www.Saleen.com and go to their parts section; you start with a Windveil Blue 2005 Mustang GT and can add their body parts one at a time.

Here ya go Eamon, I took these with an old video camera so they're not too high quality. The hood is great, I've had it for a month or so now and I love it more and more everyday! If you want any other angles let me know.

The hood looks great
How is the hood at speed? Any excessive shaking?

Thanks. About the shaking, yes the hood shakes a little when going over bumps, and everytime it does I glance at it and smile cause it looks so sweet! At 65-85, I can say the hood is solid, not rock solid, but confidence-that-it's-not-going-anywhere-period solid. I just drove to Vegas (about a 270 mile drive, man that was fun) and hit 120+ for short periods of time. The hood at those speeds appeared to me, weirdly enough, to be more solid(zero movement) than at the lower speeds, I couldn't make heads or tails of it. Hmmm maybe Saleen built in some downforce on it that kicks in higher speeds, pure speculation, but cool if so .

About the rain, well funny enough the hood saw its first rain yesterday. I checked underneath and the hood vents appear to drain through molded channels that end up emptying the water on or in front of the plastic radiator cover.

Botton line: I'm extremely happy (pun!) with this hood.

Can you get pictures of the underside of the hood? Are the vents functional for letting hot air out, or are they mostly decoration?

Thanks, looks great, I've been wanting that hood for my Sonic Blue for a long time.

Close up of where I believe the water comes out, and a close up of one vent from above:

And lastly, a picture of the underside of the vent, and the view from the driver seat. Hope they help with any decisions. About the vents being functional, yes, air flows through them, but if the vent system does any good I can't say. The Saleen website mentions a "reverse ventilation" feature but I haven't the foggiest as to what that implies.

Can you tell me where you purchased the hood and approximately how much you have into it with hood, shipping, installation and paint. If you want to pm me I will understand. I'm sure it wasn't cheap but I might have to get one of those.
