Rocker panel removal
Rocker panel removal
Anyone here have experience removing the left and right rocker panels? The work instruction has a step 3 that states:
Using a suitable tool, release the 8 hidden
pin-type retainers and remove the rocker panel moulding.
Step 2 already says to remove the 8 pin-type retainers. What does this step mean? Thanks!

Ive had mine off once for undercoating, and once to swap to black ones...pull the bottom barbed pins out- try not to destroy them, but best to plan on needing a couple new ones(autozone should have them), pop out the front pegs(pull pin from center, they fall right out).
now the hardpart- I'd suggest putting some ductape on the steel lip below door to keep from scuffing up the top of the rockers- be sure theyre clean too. give the front a good yank to pull out the front peg then its a wrestling match getting the rest off. I kinda pushed/pulled front-rear while pulling outwards and while it sounds like plastic breaking when the hidden pigs pop loose, I didnt break any (yet). first time around on mine the last 3 at the rear on both sides refused to pop out, so I taped up the blade on a small screwdriver, bent it slightly, and used as a pick to push one side of clip in- once one pops, the other pulls right out- I'll try to attach pic or link here If I can find- good luck!
heres link to old thread- guess the pics didnt migrate to the new server...

edit- hers the hidden clips again: push either of the little ears inard and stubborn ones will pop too.
