Rims from a 99-04 on S197

i know my friend has some 17X9 2003 Cobra chrome rims and they fit his car (2005 Mustang GT) but i was wondering if i would have a problem fitting 99-04 18X9 and 18X10 {Deep Dish only on rear} for my car....would they stick out too much or just enough to fit the fender

Ira,

mine sit where they do because of the offset and the width of the wheel. those 18x 10 in the back might stick out a bit....just imagine my wheels sticking out a little bit further and you'll have an idea of what it will look like.

why do you try putting them on to see?

Sure whenever you want dude...I saw the 18X10 wheels and tires on EBay but they do not do returns so I have to make sure they fit...if not I have to go with the mach 1 wheels

ok i know the 18X9 fits the way it does but i was thinking should i still go with the 18X10 cause i know i might buy the GT Supercar 19X11.5 cause it has the same offset as the new stangs i think i do not know what is everyones oppinion or i might just buy the 18X9 GT Supercar wheels

I think it's been determined that the 19x11.5 GT supercar rear wheels will not fit the S197

the stock 03/04 machs fill the wheel well nicely

i would think that anything wider than those would stick out

here are the machs with 255/50s

once again...

...the biggest factor is offset. if your going with a wheel that has the same offset as mine do (99-04), anything wider than 9 will stick out. I'm not sure how much clearer on that I can be....

I would imagine 285 or 295 would be about the widest would want to go. If these are for your fronts, I wouldnt suggest it. my car "tracks", ie heavy-steers pretty hard and I'm running 275/40's...
